Jarvis Cocker portrait in linocut

I've finally got round to carving and printing my portrait of Jarvis Cocker. It is one of a series of linocut portraits of geek heroes. I have also done Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock (see below). Both are available from my Etsy shop:

Here are a few photos of the process of making the Jarvis linocut. The first stage is to transfer the drawing to the block using transfer paper.



Then the carving (obviously!) which I don't have any photos of. Then after inking up the lino I print it on my etching press:

  1. Yes, that works pretty well! I like them both. You have really captured the "character" of these people, in black and white! Really great stuff...
